Award-winning independent production company Cantilever Media—known for titles like The Amazing Maurice and Bollywoof—is excited to announce the launch of Kazoo Films. This new U.K.-based distribution company is dedicated to delivering high-quality animated features specifically for kids and families.

 

With the backing of the U.K. Global Screen Fund’s Business Development Fund, Kazoo Films aims to connect audiences across the U.K. and Ireland with exceptional independent animation through various channels, including theatrical releases, streaming platforms, and home entertainment.

 

Kazoo Films has ambitious plans to release up to four films annually, featuring both productions from Cantilever Media and exciting collaborations with international producers and sales agents.

 

At the helm of Kazoo Films is Andrew Baker, an award-winning producer and the Founder & CEO of Cantilever Media. Baker emphasizes the unique opportunity Kazoo Films presents: “We have identified a gap in the market for a distribution company that focuses exclusively on animated feature films. Our slate will prioritize independent, commercially viable family films that we can release theatrically in the U.K. and Ireland,” he stated. “We aim to demonstrate that animated films can attract significant theatrical interest in the U.K., positioning the territory as a promising co-production and sales market for animation producers and sales agents globally, ensuring these films reach the U.K. cinema audience.”
