Atomos has announced firmware version 12.2.1, a free update for the Ninja TX and Ninja TX GO monitor-recorders that adds support for the new Canon EOS R6 Mark III. This update allows filmmakers to record pristine Apple ProRes RAW footage over HDMI, reaching resolutions up to 7K at 30P. CEO Peter Barber emphasized that this collaboration empowers hybrid creators to maximize the detail captured by Canon’s latest sensor.
The update also enables comprehensive camera control via the 5-inch HDR touchscreen, allowing users to adjust ISO, aperture, and shutter speed directly from the Atomos interface. Both devices feature real-time monitoring tools like EL Zone and focus peaking, which are essential for professional on-set accuracy. This firmware bridge strengthens the supply chain between hardware manufacturers and content creators.
The Ninja TX series records directly to CFexpress cards, supporting efficient post-production workflows for editors and studios. This over-the-air update was released on December 19, 2025, ensuring immediate compatibility for the holiday production season. Atomos continues to lead in cloud-connected monitor-recorder ecosystems for the global filmmaking community. (Australia)
