Shorts (ShortsTV) has signed a strategic partnership with the studio house Fumero Films to develop and distribute a new slate of “microdramas” optimized for short-form mobile viewing. As the buyer and primary distributor, Shorts will host the content on its global digital channels, while Fumero Films manages production. The collaboration focuses on high-production-value narratives condensed into vertical-video episodes for the social-media-driven entertainment supply chain.
The slate includes original titles such as ‘Broken Bonds’ and ‘Whispers of the Heart’, featuring an ensemble of rising independent actors. The project is led by Fumero Films’ creative team, who aim to bring cinematic storytelling to “snackable” formats popular on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. This move allows ShortsTV to diversify its library with serialized drama that appeals to Gen Z and Millennial demographics through rapid-fire storytelling.
The first wave of these microdramas is scheduled to premiere in February 2026 across Shorts’ mobile apps and partner FAST channels. This partnership reflects a broader industry shift where traditional distributors are buying into ultra-short-form content to compete for mobile attention. The deal was officially inked in late December 2025, marking a significant expansion into vertical entertainment. (USA)
