LG Electronics (South Korea) has announced that its dedicated virtual production LED solution is now powering ‘Studio V’, the centerpiece of the newly opened StudioCube facility in Daejeon. Unveiled on December 9, 2025, Studio V is one of the world’s largest volume VP studios, featuring a massive J-shaped LED wall 60 meters wide and 8 meters high. The facility is a public-private initiative supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to bolster the global supply chain for “K-Content.”
The stage utilizes LG’s LBCJ026 LED model, which features a 7,680Hz refresh rate to minimize camera flickering and 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage for realistic digital environments. LG collaborated with Brompton Technology to ensure seamless synchronization between the LED displays and video processors for broadcast-ready performance. The studio also features a motorized, height-adjustable ceiling and mobile side walls to accommodate diverse shooting requirements for high-end filmmaking and series production.
This technological flagship serves as a primary hub for South Korean studio houses to develop high-budget immersive content with reduced carbon emissions and faster schedules. Important guests at the opening included the Mayor of Daejeon and senior government officials, signaling national strategic support for the virtual production sector. By providing a fully integrated ecosystem, LG positions itself as a leading seller of infrastructure solutions for the next generation of global entertainment production. (South Korea)
