Software developer Maxon (Germany) has officially launched Cinema 4D 2026.1 as part of its comprehensive December 2025 update. The headline feature is ‘Liquid Flow’, a new GPU-accelerated fluid simulation system that integrates seamlessly with the existing Pyro and Cloth solvers. This advancement allows for complex, bidirectional interactions between smoke, fire, and liquids within a single unified simulation framework, catering to the high-stakes needs of VFX and motion graphics houses.
The update introduces advanced ‘MoGraph’ distribution modes, including Cannonball and Spline Bead, to assist artists in creating dense, organized assemblies for product visualization. Additionally, the ‘Take System’ has been overhauled to support document setting overrides, enabling faster iteration of lighting and camera passes for client reviews. The release also includes updated ‘Cineware for Unreal’ plugins, ensuring high-fidelity material and metadata transfer between Cinema 4D and Unreal Engine pipelines.
Launched on December 3, 2025, the software is available through the Maxon One subscription model. The release addresses over 50 quality-of-life fixes, including faster undo/redo operations for geometry-heavy scenes. By providing a more robust and interactive viewport experience, Maxon continues to support the global supply chain for high-end digital content across film, television, and advertising.
