Digital Domain has appointed Sudhir Reddy as President of its Global VFX Business, succeeding Lala Gavgavian. Reddy brings 27 years of industry experience and has been instrumental in expanding the company’s international studios and project portfolio.
Digital Domain, a leading visual effects studio, has announced the appointment of Sudhir Reddy as President of its Global VFX Business, effective immediately. Reddy takes over from Lala Gavgavian, who has been with the company for 18 years, including the last four as President and COO.
With 27 years of experience in the VFX industry, Reddy has spent the past 15 years at Digital Domain, playing a key role in expanding the company’s international footprint. His efforts include launching studios in Hyderabad and managing operations in Vancouver and Montreal. He has overseen global projects across feature films, episodic content, and emerging media, earning recognition for delivering ambitious visual effects work worldwide.
Prior to joining Digital Domain, Reddy held creative roles at studios in India and at Flux Animation Studios in New Zealand. He also served as a Senior Producer and Manager at Reliance MediaWorks in India and Los Angeles, where he managed large-scale VFX pipelines and cross-border teams.
“Digital Domain has always been at the forefront of visual storytelling,” Reddy said. “I am excited to lead this talented global team as we continue to position Digital Domain as a top provider of VFX services. Our focus will be on our core strengths—innovative VFX for feature films and episodic content. We aim to build a strong platform that supports ongoing growth and innovation, combining creative talent and technology to stand out in the industry.”
The leadership change follows careful consideration by Digital Domain’s Board of Directors and key investors. William Wong, Chairman of the Board and CEO, stated, “This decision was made thoughtfully. We believe Sudhir’s unique blend of creative insight and operational expertise will guide Digital Domain through its next phase of growth.”
Gavgavian, who led initiatives to strengthen the company’s global infrastructure and client relationships, departs with the board and staff expressing deep gratitude for her contributions over nearly two decades.
Reddy will report directly to Wong, with Gabrielle Gourrier, EVP of VFX Business, and Eric Kimelton, Executive Producer and Head of Production, reporting to him.
