Tving Content Hub Launches Exclusively on Disney+ Japan

TOKYO, JAPAN – November 3, 2025 – The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd. and South Korean entertainment conglomerate CJ ENM, through its streaming platform Tving, have announced a multi-year content partnership. The strategic deal positions Disney+ as a key subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) partner for Tving in Japan, bringing a substantial library of premium Korean content to the platform.

Deal Terms and Content Rollout

The partnership will see up to 60 of Tving’s top-performing originals and popular CJ ENM drama series launched on Disney+ Japan, with the content rollout beginning on November 5, 2025. The lineup includes fan-favorite titles such as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Reply 1988. A key feature of the agreement is the simultaneous, day-and-date exclusive streaming of the new thriller series Dear X on Disney+ in Japan, concurrent with its Korean debut.

Dedicated Platform Integration

To effectively showcase the expanded library, Disney+ Japan is introducing a dedicated content hub branded as the “TVING Collection” on its homepage, alongside its core franchises. This “platform-within-a-platform” approach is a significant strategic move, marking the first time Disney+ has opened an internal content hub in the Asia-Pacific region for an external brand. This dedicated integration ensures high visibility for Tving’s diverse slate of emotionally driven and genre-defining Korean series.

Strategic Impact

For Disney+ Japan, the partnership strengthens its Korean content offering and provides a substantial competitive advantage in the highly saturated Japanese streaming market. For Tving, the deal serves as a crucial component of its global expansion strategy, leveraging Disney+’s established presence and subscriber base in Japan—the world’s third-largest content consumption market—to reduce market entry risks and showcase its brand power internationally.

Tamotsu Hiiro, Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd., stated,

Julie Choi, CEO of Tving, added, “Our partnership with Disney is an opportunity to most effectively present Tving content to local viewers. Through this, we aim to grow beyond Korea’s No. 1 OTT into a truly global K-OTT platform.”
