The production of Dragons’ Den is moving to Glasgow in 2022, creating new opportunities for local talent. The show will return to BBC One for its 19th series, featuring a mix of familiar and new faces, including the youngest-ever Dragon, Steven Bartlett.

In a thrilling development for fans of the show, BBC Studios is relocating the production of Dragons’ Den to its Glasgow hub starting in 2022. This move is set to open up a wealth of opportunities for local Scottish editorial and production management talent.

The Factual Entertainment team at BBC Studios in Scotland, under the leadership of Adeline Ramage Rooney, will take charge of producing the 20th series of Dragons’ Den from Glasgow. However, it’s important to note that live studio recordings for this season will still occur in Manchester.

Currently, BBC Studios produces several popular titles from its Pacific Quay offices, including Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby and The Weakest Link. Notably, The Weakest Link also made a similar transition when Amazing Hotels moved from London to Glasgow for its third series at the end of 2019, and production for the new series 4 has been established there as well.

Fans can look forward to the return of Dragons’ Den on BBC One for its 19th series in the New Year. This season will feature familiar faces such as Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, and Sara Davies, alongside Steven Bartlett, a 29-year-old entrepreneur, podcast host, and Sunday Times best-selling author, who will make his debut as the youngest-ever Dragon.

Hannah Wyatt, managing director of Factual Entertainment and Events Productions at BBC Studios, expressed her enthusiasm about the move: “Following the recent announcement of the relocation of Top Gear to Bristol, this is another significant step for one of our standout Factual Entertainment offerings. I am confident that Scottish talent will bring fresh perspectives and ideas, positioning our Glasgow hub as one of our most productive and creative bases.”

Dragons’ Den is produced by BBC Studios, with Chi Ukairo serving as the Executive Producer, Samantha Davies as the Series Editor, and Sarah Clay as the Commissioning Editor for BBC.
